Learning objectives
The aim of the course, in relation to the general aims of the Degree Course in Foreign Languages and Literatures, is to provide students with the essential skills to decode and contextualize the phenomena of the current global world, ie the basic knowledge of events and processes of transformation of political, social, eco-nomic and cultural structures from the beginning of the twentieth century to to-day. At the end of the course students will de-velop the ability to critically analyze long-term socio-cultural changes and will be able to reason in a diachronic key, placing events in their different temporalities.
Prerequisites and basic notions
Prerequisites: good command of the Italian language; knowledge of the fundamental features of modern history and the nineteenth century. Erasmus students: please contact the professor
Program
Prerequisites: good command of the Italian language; knowledge of the fundamental features of modern history and the 19th century. Course content: The course deals with the period between the Great War and the present day and proposes an analysis of the processes of formation of the contemporary world at a national and international level. Mandatory bibliography for attending and non-attending students: A university textbook of Contemporary History from the First World War to today, for example: - G. Sabbatucci, V. Vidotto, Contemporary History. From the Great War to today, Laterza, Rome-Bari, 2020 - T. Detti- G. Gozzini, Contemporary History. The Twentieth Century, Pearson, 2017 The lessons will take place in the second semester. Both streaming and recording of the lessons are planned. Exams: written test, or oral mode in case of particular needs.

Written exam, alternatively oral exam. Students with disabilities or specific learning disorders (DSA), who intend to request the adaptation of the exam, must contact the teacher at least 3 days in advance of the date of the session

Each answer will be evaluated with a minimum score of 0 points and a maximum of 7 points
