Laurea in Filosofia - Enrollment from 2025/2026Una quota dei crediti corrispondenti all’attività formativa dell’intero triennio, determinata dal presente Regolamento in 12 CFU, è riservata alla scelta autonoma da parte della/o studente. Questa scelta può essere orientata sia verso corsi/esami non seguiti/sostenuti in precedenza, sia verso iterazioni di corsi/esami, sia ancora verso altre attività (tutorati, ulteriori competenze linguistiche, partecipazione a convegni o seminari), purché tutte preventivamente approvate dal Collegio Didattico e/o dalla Commissione Didattica del Dipartimento. Tra i 12 crediti dovrà comunque essere presente almeno un esame con voto. In conformità al dettato del D.M. 270/04 e alla luce delle raccomandazioni espresse dal D.M. 26 luglio 2007, capo 3 lettera n), la scelta, che non può essere predeterminata (fatto salvo quanto indicato per le iterazioni), deve comunque essere ispirata a coerenza col piano formativo della/del singola/o studente.
In caso di attività formative non rientranti nelle categorie previste, si dovrà fare richiesta di valutazione al Collegio Didattico di Filosofia fornendo adeguate motivazioni.

Learning objectives
Italian Literature and Philosophy
The course of Italian Literature and Philosophy aims to investigate the relationship between the national literary tradition – framed within its European context – and Western philosophical thought by focusing on the analysis of an author, a specific period or a theme.
The course will provide students with:
- knowledge of the fundamental lines of the history of Western thought, until the contemporary age;
- ability to contextualize, understand and comment on a literary text, constantly comparing it with the philosophical text and with other domains of Western culture (anthropology, psychology, mythic-symbolic thought);
- familiarity with the Italian literary tradition and its main thematic and formal traits, from the origins to the present day, with particular attention to the intersections between literature and philosophical tradition;
- capability of autonomous judgement on specific cultural questions;
- awareness of the capability of aesthetic experience to understand and transform the world we live in;
- improvement of linguistic skills.
Prerequisites and basic notions

Program
"My century, beautiful and sad": poetry and the contemporary.
Is the "contemporary" really simply the "current"? What is the relationship between poetry, time and memory? Does poetic language still have a role in the world of digital and (so-called) artificial intelligence?
This course will try to answer these and other questions intimately related to contemporary times. The lectures will be divided into two parts:
Part I: What is contemporary poetry?
A brief portrait of contemporary poetry will be sketched out, examining an anthology of Italian and foreign lyric texts (in translation), from Baudelaire to Mandel'stam to Zanzotto.
Part II: Poetry and the Image in the contemporary age
An attempt will be made to interrogate the relationship between word and image, drawing on the works of some great poets and artists, from Constantine Kavafis to Antonella Anedda, from Edward Hopper to David Hockney.
Attending students will prepare the material indicated in the "Attending-students texts" section of the bibliography and the material published on the Moodle platform. Further bibliography will be indicated in class if necessary.
***NB. For attending students only, an OPTIONAL IN ITINERE TEST is scheduled halfway through the course, relating to the first part of the program. Students who take it and pass it will take only the second part of the program for the exam.
Non-attending students will prepare only the material of the section "Texts for non-attending students", prepared especially for them.

Bibliography
Didactic methods
Face-to-face lectures, with ample space dedicated to the discussion and intervention of students.
Lectures by invitation, seminar lessons and visits to the UniVr collection "Contemporanee / Contemporanei" of the Polo Santa Marta and to the Casa Museo in Palazzo Maffei are provided.
Learning assessment procedures
The exam is oral and is intended to ascertain the knowledge of the topics covered during the course and the ability to analyze and interpret the texts.
Evaluation criteria
1) verification of knowledge of the texts;
2) verification of the knowledge of the critical bibliography;
3) assessment of the ability to argue, to compare texts, to rework and interpret the main topics of the course
Criteria for the composition of the final grade
The vote is expressed out of thirty on the basis of knowledge, the effectiveness and clarity of the answers, the property of language.
