Learning outcomes

The aim of the course is to give the students a precise and articulated reconstruction of the contemporary philosophy starting from the German idealism, so as to provide them with a general knowledge and adequate conceptual tools in sight of their following studies. A particular attention is devoted to the problems from which the philosophical conceptions arise and their historical-cultural influence. The course will give also indications on the historiographic debate and the critical fortune of single authors.

Program

The syllabus is the same for students attending lectures and those not attending lectures (on the latter see below), and has the following parts:

General part:
- The post-Kantian debate and Fichte;
- Art and nature in Schelling;
- Idealism and history in Hegel;
- The post-Hegelian debate: Strauss, Feuerbach, Marx;
- The alternative of Schopenhauer - the historical and cultural situation in the second half of 19th century - the formation of Nietzsche;
- Nietzsche: the death of God;
- Bataille: eroticism, dépense, chance;
- the phenomenology of Husserl and the question of Being in Heidegger.

On the texts of the syllabus, please see above the syllabus in Italian, in which they are distinguished in compulsory and not compulsory.

NOTE: As already said, the syllabus and the method of examination are the same both form students attending lectures and those not in condition to do that, but for all the students needing some further support the professor is always available for answering questions by e-mail and for meetings on the platform ZOOM.
