Learning outcomes
The course aims to make students develop a greater familiarity in the approach and study of decorative arts and related artistic techniques.
Program
The course includes nine lessons in which will be presented a general overview of the decorative
arts, with particular attention to the different artistic techniques (metals, ceramics, glass, cabinet
making, printing, textiles) and their evolution over time. A focus will follow on the development of
applied arts museums and the peculiarities that distinguish these institutions. In the end will be
presented an excursus of illustrated artifacts of decorative arts with reference also to the main
magazines dedicated to this topic.
