Learning outcomes

The course aims at focusing on the main principles of pragmatics, with specific reference to speech acts, and the leading role that it plays in authentic communicative exchanges as well as in business English and English for Tourism. Theoretical framework will be supported by single cases taken from written and oral passages. Extracts from promotional tools, such as brochures, leaflets and Internet marketing through websites, will be analysed from a linguistic point of view, specifically connected to pragmatics.

Oral exam
