Learning outcomes
Knowledge and understanding - Knowledge and understanding of the organizational structure of social services institutions and structures - Knowledge and understanding of the organizational dynamics concerning social services institutions and structures Ability to apply knowledge and understanding - Ability to properly interpret the position of one’s own institution with regard to the welfare network. LEARNING OUTCOMES Objectives of the course are: (1) knowledge of organizations' basic constituent elements, in particular of complexity and belonging to the social and health services area; (2) knowledge of the main organizational theories useful to analyze and understand the distinctive organizations' features; (3) knowledge of the main organizational analysis methods and tools, allowing you to read organization in its internal processes and relationships with the context of reference; (4) ability to contextualize social service intervention and the work of the social worker in organizational dynamics, with particular reference to network organizational models; (5) ability to read the changes in organizations and work world, generating old and new social needs. Teaching also involves organizing methods and tools to analyze organizations.
Program
The course is divided into three parts.
The first part deals with the introductory aspects of understanding organizational organizations and models, developing concepts such as structure, culture, process, integration, network, power, authority, and in particular referring to tools and methodologies of organizational analysis (variables, Process analysis, etc.).
The second part is devoted to the deepening of organizational characteristics that social and health services in Italy are taking on, with particular reference to inter-organizational relations and integration of services.
The third part deepens the major changes now affecting the work, which are the basis for the new ways of organizing work and the emergence of old and new social needs.
The contents of the first and second part will also be part of an organizational analysis simulation activity, which students will support in small groups led by the teacher. Group work is mandatory in order to support the final exam and the products of the group work will be discussed in the classroom.

During the lessons the teacher will provide supplementary materials, especially in reference to data and results of sociological research needed to interpret the phenomena in progress.
As far as teaching methods are concerned, the lesson consists of theoretical lessons, supplemented by discussion of cases, documentary reading, thematic analyzes (with presentation and discussion of data and results from research paths, etc.), confrontation with significant witnesses.
During the lessons there will be space for questions to collectively discuss any doubts and curiosities, while specific clarifications and needs will be presented during the individual reception time.

Examination Methods
The examination takes place in oral form, with vote on a scale of thirty, and involves verification of the knowledge and assessment of student's abilities as set out in the training objectives.
There is no intermediate assessment, but an evaluation of 1 (= insufficient) to 5 (= excellent) score of group work, which is the starting point of individual oral exam.
