Learning outcomes
Conoscere da una lato i concetti fondanti del discorso pedagogico e la sua natura interdisciplinare; dall’altro comprendere le "sfide educative" del ventunesimo secolo. Riflettere sugli aspetti costitutivi dell’educazione: finalità, metodi, mezzi, rapporto educatore-educando, ambiente sociale e culturale. Comprendere il senso della pedagogia e delle sue molteplici correnti di pensiero; il ruolo del sapere pedagogico nella lettura della complessità del mondo contemporaneo, la sua collocazione e la sua rilevanza tra le altre scienze dell’educazione. Saper individuare, nel concreto delle singole situazioni educative, gli elementi teorici e metodologici indispensabili nella costruzione di progetti educativi, tenendo conto delle diversità che caratterizzano ogni specifico contesto educativo.
Program
PROGRAMME:
1. Society changes and role of the pedagogy: premises of the role of pedagogy.
Changes and educational challenges in contemporary society:
- globalization and cultural complexity;
- changes and political, work, cultural and identity crisis;
- crisis of values and education;
- need for education and pedagogy.
2. Fundamental elements of the general pedagogy: essential disciplinary contents.
Role of pedagogy and education in contemporary society:
- educability, education and pedagogy;
- fundamental concepts of the pedagogical discipline and pedagogy interdisciplinary nature;
- fundamental elements of pedagogy: objectives methods, means, contents, educator-educated relationship, environment.
3. Society changes and role of the pedagogy: deepening of the initial knowledges.
Educational strategies to face pluralism and diversity:
- education among nature and culture;
- concept of Bildung;
- pedagogical personalism;
- intercultural pedagogy.
TEACHING METHODS
The classes include frontal lessons, group discussions and exercises in small groups.

Examination Methods
EXAM FEATURES
The exam aims at verifying the level of achievement of the educational objectives previously mentioned. The exam consists of a written test with closed questions from some textbooks and an open question. The oral exam on all the textbooks can be taken on the same day, after getting the result of the written test.The educational and evaluation modalities of learning will be communicated at the beginning of the lessons.
