Learning outcomes
The course aims to read philosophy in the light of the difference to be women / men, from the conviction that sexual difference counts for something in what he does mind. The thought of sexual difference is a new and original perspective, open from feminist thought, the horizon of contemporary philosophy.
Program
What it is beyond our control: emotions, vulnerability and desire
The course, taking the distinction made by the Stoics between what depends on and what does not depend on us, intends to analyze the contemporary subjectivity, seen in relation to that which does not depend on him. The contemporary subject is urged to come out of himself by desire and his command is put into crisis by emotions, vulnerability and dependence on others. While the rational subject of modernity to self aimed, instead the contemporary subject is disturbed by the desire flowing through it, it is marked by sexual difference and is vulnerable to the injuries that come from outside. In the course, we will examine some interpretations feminists of subjectivity and desire.
