Academic calendar
The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. Public holidays and University closures are also indicated. The academic year normally begins on 1 October each year and ends on 30 September of the following year.

Learning outcomes
The module will introduce students to Shakespeare’s tragic theatre through an analysis of the concept of tyranny within the context of coeval political thinking and theatrical practice.
Program
The module will discuss a few crucial aspects of Shakespeare’s historical and tragic drama with special attention to the concept of tyranny and the notion of royal legitimacy. By examining some fundamental issues, such as the subject’s relation with time and power, the module will focus upon the mechanics of the tyrant’s fears in Richard II and Macbeth.
