Learning outcomes

The first part of the course will deal with short prose writings of some representative authors of the first half of the 20th century (Walser, Kafka, Benjamin, Musil).
After a short introduction we will analyse the texts under consideration and deal in particular with the following aspects:
- circus scenes: life and art around 1900
- Denkbilder: word, image, gesture
- zoopoetics: man and animal face
