Learning objectives
The course shows the evolution of crop plants by connecting notions of their origins with current and future biotechnological developments in order to cope with sustainable agriculture both from a production and environmental perspective. The course deals with evolution of plants in relation to climate change and the growth of population. The teaching pathway will follow the description of nature and the use of plant genetic resources to understand the basics of plant breeding and its perspectives. The course will focus on the description of modern approaches in plant biotechnology, the normative framework and its potential impact worldwide

Evaluation criteria
The purpose of the test is to assess the knowledge of the topics covered in the program. The depth and breadth of the knowledge acquired and their conceptual elaboration will also be assessed.
