Learning objectives

At a general level, the course aims to provide the student with the basic information to understand the plants and animals differences in terms of the life strategies. In particular, the course will focus on the embryonic and post-embryonic growth and development processes. Educational objectives: -Understand the differences between the life strategies of plants and animals, in particular those related to the relative importance of embryonic and post-embryonic growth and development processes; -describe the role of apical and lateral meristems in the primary and secondary growth of the axial organs, and in the production of lateral roots, leaves, branches and flowers; -apply the acquired knowledge to plant improvement processes through biotechnological approaches; -be able to autonomously deepen the acquired knowledges; -acquire a language appropriate to the subject.
