Learning objectives

The course aims to provide the main concepts related to information systems for data management and systems for business process management. In particular, the main types of information systems for data management and techniques for modeling structured, semistructured, and unstructured data will be introduced. Furthermore, methods for extracting information from data will be described. Finally, the main business process modeling approaches will be introduced. At the end of the course, the student will be able to master knowledge and skills about designing and managing data and processes and extracting information from data sources. Moreover, the student will be able to communicate appropriately with stakeholders interested in data management, process modeling and information retrieval. Students will also be able to autonomously continue studies in the Information Systems field.
