Learning outcomes

The student by the end of the course will be able to:
critically appraise a research article (clinical trial, cohort and case control studies)
implement the knowledge gained in the courses of statistics and epidemiology
interpret the statistical and epidemiological data
interpret the survival analyses
interpret a meta-analysis

The structire and the essential requirements of a research article
The baseline elements to calculate the sample size
the interpretation of mean, mode, median, incidence, prevalence and incidence density
Interpretation of odds ratio, relative risks and confidence intervals
interpretation of survival curves
clinical and statistical interpretation of a meta-analysis

Examination Methods

The summary of a research article will be presentes with open and closed questions relevant for the contnts of the program
the exam is written and the final evaluation and the grades are on a scale of thirty: in casoe of an outstanding exam, the final evaluation will be 30 with honors
