Learning objectives

The course aims to provide students with knowledge and methods to develop relational skills declined in professional and help relationships and in educational relationships. It introduces the student to a global vision of the psychological development of the person in the complexity, of the factors that interact and understanding. of the needs expressed in the request for help, taking into account the stages of development of life and the events that can cross it (illness, mourning, chronicity ..); it also proposes a deepening of the psychological implications of development and illness. It introduces the founding principles of the care relationship, the techniques and strategies for the management of effective communication with the person and the family. THERAPEUTIC EDUCATION the module introduces the student to a global vision of the psychological development of the individual in the complexity, of the factors that interact and to the understanding of the needs expressed in the request for help, taking into account the development phases of life, capacities of the adaptation required in the various evolutionary stages; it also introduces the founding principles of the care relationship, the techniques and strategies for managing effective communication. PRINCIPLES AND TECHNIQUES OF CARING RELATIONSHIP Know and apply the principles and basic techniques of the care relationship to communicate effectively with patients and ensure that the patient can describe his problem and the professional listen, enough to grasp the meaning of what the patient says, as well as knowing how to protect himself from excessive involvement with the patient. CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY The aim of the module is to provide the theoretical and methodological tools that allow to build and maintain a profitable therapeutic relationship with the patient and family members in the context of care. The acquisition of these skills will enable the undergraduate to increase adherence to therapies, patient satisfaction and quality of life. Specifically, the educational objectives include the acquisition of systematic and up-to-date knowledge on biopsychosociological, cognitive and emotional processes; the acquisition of systematic and updated knowledge on communication and relational techniques in health care; adequate knowledge of methods and tools of investigation in psychology; interdisciplinary knowledge useful for completing training in the context of care relationships; and acquisition of the ability to find the sources necessary to develop effective intervention methods and the ability to critically analyze clinical interventions
