Clinical nursing care in surgical area (2020/2021)
The teaching is organized as follows:
Learning outcomes
The course aims to investigate some relevant clinical situations from an epidemiological point of view and to provide care for developing them with an integrated surgical and nursing approach. The patient's problems will be addressed considering their evolution, the patient's evaluation and the choice of care interventions based on evidence, appropriateness and the patient's needs. This teaching is built on the knowledge of surgical nursing, on the principles of nursing, supervision, physiology, pathophysiology and general pathology addressed to the 1st year. ANESTHESIOLOGY AND ANTALGIC THERAPY: the module aims to provide students with the knowledge concerning the anesthesiology and analgesic areas. Particular attention is paid to anesthesiological administration, depending on the context in which one will act (operating room, clinic, first aid, resuscitation, etc.). Everything is critically proposed based on the available Evidence Based Medicine. The objectives of the module include the knowledge of the main anesthetic techniques, the preparation of the surgical patient of both choice and urgency and the pathophysiology of acute and chronic pain. GENERAL SURGERY The course aims to study in depth clinical epidemiologically relevant and exemplary surgical examples. They will be developed with an integrated surgical-assistance approach. Problems, risks and planning of interventions will be dealt with considering their evolution in the peri-operative phase, evidence of efficacy and educational needs and planned dimisisone. CLINICAL SURGICAL NURSING The course aims to investigate epidemiologically relevant and exemplary clinical situations for care, developing them with an integrated surgical and nursing approach. The patient's problems will be addressed considering their evolution, the evaluation of the patient and the choice of care interventions based on the evidences, appropriate and oriented to the needs of the patient. ORTHOPEDIC AND TRAUMATOLOGY the module aims to investigate some epidemiologically relevant clinical situations and specimens for care by developing them with an integrated surgical and nursing approach.
