Didactic methods
The teaching method is inspired by a form of "Tinkering" adapted to the needs of university teaching while maintaining a spirit that aims at deductive rather than inductive knowledge. Through the use of slides of histological preparations, the student is stimulated to observe and deduce the fundamental characteristics present in the tissues covered by the program, correlating the shape to the function performed by the tissue itself. The use of slides is accompanied by videos.
Learning assessment procedures
Examination: written open questions with suggestions. The written test potentially covers all the topics of the program delivered at the opening of the course to the student.
A written intermediate test regarding the first part of the program is offered during the course. The intermediate test is valid until the end of the academic year. Students that have not passed successfully the intermediate test must repeat the complete program examination.
If the student passed the intermediate test, the final vote is obtained from the following formula: Vote = Vote_intermediate test * 0.5 + Vote_second part * 0.5.
Evaluation criteria
For a correct evaluation, attention is paid to knowledge, the terminology used and the ability to express oneself. The questions used report precise scientific language that only if known leads the student to the correct answer. A point is assigned to each correct answer, and no penalty is attributed for each wrong answer. The score of the right questions is compared to the totality of the questions present in the task and the pass is established in half plus 1/6.
