Learning objectives

The placement during the training course is the privileged and irreplaceable way to learn the professional role through active experimentation. The quality of the internship depends on the continuous interaction of the practical experience with theoretical reflection. Practical activity aims to: promote and integrate theoretical and practical knowledge; develop technical, educational and relational skills; promote direct knowledge of experiential areas, as well as critical reflection on the operational modalities observed.

Prerequisites and basic notions

Attendance of the internship with achievement of the internship objectives and saturation of the number of hours envisaged by the training course.

Program

At the end of the internship experience, the student develops the ability to identify the main healthcare and clinical problems for multiple patients (generally a small group of medium/high complexity or critical patients); plans according to shared outcomes and guarantees valid interventions supported by evidence; guarantees therapeutic treatments safely. Establishes an effective relationship with patients, family members and caregivers; guarantees the information and training necessary to promote self-care and develops educational skills among peers. Develops the ability to identify and manage healthcare and organizational priorities.

Didactic methods

The internship includes various training activities: direct experience in the services, tutorial activities for preparation and re-elaboration of the experience (briefing and debriefing), laboratory exercises and simulations, guided study, self-learning, development of plans, projects and reports. Internship experiences are accompanied and supervised by tutors and expert professionals.

Learning assessment procedures

All this contributes to clinical learning. Internship experiences are assessed for ongoing training purposes and at the end of each year of the course through an overall assessment of the student's and collegiate path.

Students with disabilities or specific learning disorders (SLD), who intend to request the adaptation of the exam, must follow the instructions given HERE

Evaluation criteria

Achievement of 3rd year internship goals

Criteria for the composition of the final grade

The evaluation is collegial and considers the levels achieved in the various clinical experiences (70%), the outcome of the essay and the internship exam (20%).
