Academic calendar
The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. Public holidays and University closures are also indicated. The academic year normally begins on 1 October each year and ends on 30 September of the following year.

To acquire knowledge on the main cognitive and behavioral processes, with reference to the underlying neural bases.

------------------------ MM: Fisiologia del sistema nervoso ------------------------ ------------------------ To know the basic anatomy of the central nervous system, the mechanisms of excitability and synaptic transmission, the sensory systems (somatosensory system and pain, visual system, auditory system and balance, chemical senses); to integrate the knowledge of nervous and endocrine mechanism of regulation and signalling. ------------------------ MM: Fisiologia generale ------------------------ The course should provide the student with basic knowledge on the physical prinicples regulating physiological processes and on systems physiology. Students should also be able to apply the acquired physiological knowledge in practical situations in the approach to patients.

------------------------ MM: Fisiologia del sistema nervoso ------------------------ Physiology of excitable membranes, synaptic transmission, sensory systems and neuroendocrine integration, on the basis of the anatomical organization of the nervous system. ------------------------ MM: Fisiologia generale ------------------------ 1) Cardiovascular system: vessels, the caridac pump, cardiac electrical activty, the capillary system, extrinsic and intrinsic control mechanisms. 2) Respiratory system: pulmonary hemodynamics; ventilation; gas excghanges. 3) Renal system: filtration, secretion, reabsorbtion, excretion. Concentration and diluition of urine. Micturition. 4) The digestive system: motility, secretion, digestion and absorbtion. 5) Metabolism.
