Learning objectives

Acquire language skills that are needed to communicate with patients and practitioners when it’s necessary, to read and to understand the content of scientific research about professional scientific topics.

Prerequisites and basic notions

ability to understand a course taught in English, level B1

Program

- Acquire a specific vocabulary useful for understanding scientific articles
- develop communication skills and an appropriate phrasebook for the management of clinical practice
- Read and understand scientific texts of physiotherapeutic interest

Didactic methods

The course will be held in English. Exercises of reading and listening to authentic material will be alternated with group work to delve deeper into specific cases. Lessons will take place using a communicative approach with emphasis on lexical enrichment.

Learning assessment procedures

Final presentation at the end of the course (except in exceptional cases)

Evaluation criteria

- Minimum English skills at level B1+
- Study of the material and specific vocabulary
- Public speaking skills
- Creation of visual aids in English with appropriate vocabulary and bibliographical references

Criteria for the composition of the final grade

All assessment criteria mentioned above must be met to pass the exam. No numerical grade will be provided, but rather a "pass/fail" rating.
