Learning outcomes
Critically analyze the scientific literature in the field of rehabilitation / education / welfare / organizational differentiating the type of studies and its transferability in the skills required by the specific professional.
• the student will acquire the ability to distinguish between different clinical trials and understand the methodology of observational studies than in experimental and quasi-experimental.
• Depending on the critical analysis of observational / experimental studies will be able to find some theoretical / practical suggestions and / or applications to verify the effectiveness of physiotherapy procedures.
Program
Why do research?
From what constitutes evidence when it comes to effects of interventions?
Knowing the different stages for the formulation of a research problem: ask the question, the scientific evidence collection, evaluation of evidence collection, integration between the collection and the problem / question formulated, complete the construction of the search strategy based the material found, evaluation of the entire path.
Formulate the clinical question (build PICO).
Differentiate between different types of study (clinical observational studies, experimental clinical trials)
Distinguish the validity and importance of the studies found based on their hierarchy of evidence through the use of validated scales that assess the quality of clinical trials.
Knowing how to critically evaluate a scientific study compared to its internal validity (by applying specific tools) and its validity externally generalizability. (What is the meaning of this evidence for my professional practice?)
Knowing the qualitative research and new approaches (the size of the humanization of care and assistance).
Examination Methods
• evaluation of evidence-based physiotherapy methodology module is required critical analysis of a scientific article (RCT) with a check list (critical appraisal test) and transfer in clinical practice
• Analized the study critically analyzed and the practical implications in rehabilitation.
