PSYCHOLOGY OF DEVELOPMENTAL AGE
Introduction to the psychology of the developmental age, themes, mechanisms and contexts.
Theoretical issues, deepening of theories centered on emotional development and attachment, deepening of theories on cognitive development and comparison of the positions of Piaget and Vygotsky, deepening of neuro socio constructivist theories, notes on plasticity and brain development. Individual and environmental factors in the development of resilience and vulnerability protection factors. Perspectives on the role of context and family and parenting styles. Typical and atypical development in comparison.
Neonatal period and up to 2 years: pre- and post-natal continuity; behavioral states; perceptive, expressive, regulatory and intersubjective skills; emotional-relational development; motor and cognitive development; prerequisites in the verbal and non-verbal area, language development.
Early childhood and school age: cognitive development; development of thought, narrative language and autobiographical memory; development of graphic representation; development of executive functions in cognitive processes; regulation of emotions, distortions and temperamental disorders and consequences for self-esteem; relational dynamics in the peer group; development of identity and awareness of the Self; role of motivation in learning.
Pre-adolescent and adolescent age: developmental tasks and changes in the biological, sexual, affective-emotional and cognitive areas; the separation process individuation; identity representation, changes in social relationships and family ties.

Examination Methods

PSYCHOLOGY OF THE DEVELOPMENTAL AGE
At the end of the course the student must demonstrate that he has acquired full mastery in the theoretical field and autonomous ability to contextualize it to crucial issues related to development processes.
The evaluation will take into account four dimensions: knowledge of theoretical contents; ability to use a language appropriate to the contents studied; knowledge of the appropriate methodologies and tools in the various themes; ability to critically rework the contents studied.
The exam will take place in oral form.
