Learning outcomes

Understand the characteristics of the hearing impaired and hearing impairment depending on the bio-psycho-social variables. Knowing the methods and purposes of the prosthetic correction. Knowing the methods for speech therapy evaluation of the perception and the development of language. Knowing the evaluation protocols for different age groups. Knowing the evaluation paths and speech therapy treatment in 'hearing loss. Provide the specific skills required in the professional profile for the programming of the auditory deprivation treatment by providing guidance on the most accredited by EBM methods.
Prerequisites
theoretical knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the theoretical uditive.Conoscenza streets of linguistic and acoustic phonetics and articulatory, physical acoustics.
The student should be able to achieve adequate skills in programming a specific assessment in the diagnostic process of growing children and in route selection cochlear implant hearing loss in pre-verbal and post-verbal. The student must acquire a specific language that enables him to confrontation with other professionals, it must achieve the ability to give verbal perceptual-assessment test and calculate the communication profile.

Program

Perceptual and linguistic description of the evolution of the hearing impaired subject with reference to the norm. Evaluation and treatment of hearing loss in children through the description of evaluation protocols, guidelines, different therapeutic approaches. Description of evaluation and treatment protocols of communication-language skills in complex cases Description evaluation methods and adolescent patient treatment and adult with hearing loss. Particular attention to the difference between perception and language aimed at a more effective evaluation and treatment of the child hearing impaired at pre-verbal stage, transitional and linguistic stage.
