Learning outcomes

Anatomical and physiological organization of the Central and Peripheral Nervous System.
Anatomical, physiological and clinical correlations.
Main neurocognitive dysfunctions and cranial nerve disorders with a patient-oriented approach (cerebrovascular disorders, dementia, motor neuron disorders, parkinsonisms).

Program

Organization of the central and peripheral nervous system, Elements of cytology and histology.
Principles of clinical neuroanatomy: from the syndrome to the site of lesion. Elements of brain functional imaging.
Definition and functional anatomy of neurocognitive domains: social cognition, comple attenion; executive function; perceptual-motor function; language; learning and memory. Semeiology of neurocognitive domains. From function to dysfuntion of neurocognitive domains: Alzheimer's disease; Fronto-Temporal Dementia (behavioural variant and primary progressive aphasias; degenerative and vascular subcortical dementia; delirium; stroke.
Functional anatomy of cranial nerves; semeiology of cranial nerves; causes of dysarthria and neurogenic dysphagia.
