-The pregnant patient: oral manifestations in pregnancy and predisposing factors of oral pathologies. Influence of periodontitis on adverse pregnancy outcomes. Important nutrients in pregnancy nutrition. Recommendations for the promotion of oral health in the perinatal age (2014). - National guidelines for the promotion of oral health and the prevention of oral pathologies in developmental age (2013). - Promotion of oral health from the prenatal to neonatal period. Home and professional oral hygiene in the pregnant woman. - Developmental defects: cleft lip, cleft palate and cleft lip and palate. Oral characteristics. Risk factors and classifications. -The child patient: approach, home and professional oral hygiene in the different age groups: 0-2 years, 2-6 years, 6-12 years. -The most frequent bad habits of dental interest: sucking of fingers and/or pacifier, interposition of the lower lip, infant swallowing, oral breathing. - The orthodontic patient: prevention of dental and periodontal health: before, during and after orthodontic treatment. Home and professional oral hygiene of mobile and fixed devices. -The sealing of the furrows and pits. Types of sealants. The use of the rubber dam. - The adolescent patient. The preventive role of the dental hygienist and the approach to the adolescent patient. -Piercing and complications in the oral cavity. -The patient with special needs. Requirements for the hygienist who works on patients with special needs. Learning assessment procedures
The objective of the exam is to ascertain the understanding, the critical ability and the logic in presenting the contents in the program with a scientific language. Written exam with open questions and description of a clinical case. Time 1 hour.
Evaluation criteria
The evaluation is made on the contents, the critical reasoning and the quality of the presentation of the paper. The vote is expressed out of thirty.
