Academic calendar
The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. Public holidays and University closures are also indicated. The academic year normally begins on 1 October each year and ends on 30 September of the following year.

Understand the nature of complex systems and health services. Acquire knowledge of management and relations in health processes and health networks. The course allows the student to understand the conconcept, the structure and the function of a health organization, through the understanding of the principal points of view developed by sociology of organizations. Course objectives At the end of the course the student will be able to: - recognize the actual tendencies for studing and understending the organisational events - be oriented within a health organization - Identify the phases of the organizational socialization process and some effective behaviors to job induction and to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.

Acquire basic knowledge of Health management: the 5 Cs, the questions, the elements that define an organization. The models of health service and healthcare system. SSN and SSR models in Italy. The networks of integrated care: modules, modes and management tools, constraints and advantages. Professions and Professionalism: professional profiles, skill profiles, competence assessment. The basics and the principles of clinical risk management, tools and methods for event analysis, types of error and violations, patient safety.

Contents - The organization sociology: aims and subject of study - Organization: definition and concepts; studies's evolution - Understanding the organization: elements and variables - The process of the organizational socialization and the job placement: aspects, criticisms, main practices of socialization - Team and interprofessional work: interaction-integration-interdependence. Didactic method Interactive classes designed to present and discuss the main concepts and concrete examples. A small team work is aspected concerning the multidisciplinary team work. Throughout the first class will be displaced the aims, the concepts, the teaching and testing modalities, the reference bibliography and useful books for deepening the subjects. The group : the group concept; types of groups; group work and group work; team building; structural phenomena of group ( status , roles, leaders and leadership , standards ) ; dynamic phenomena ( cohesion , conformity, deviance conflict ); normalizing effect and polarization . The organization:culture and organizational climate; organizational well-being; stress ( definition, general adaptation syndrome, eustress and distress, stressor, the role of individual characteristics) locus of control; coping; problem solving; psychosocial risks in organizations ( burnout, mobbing).

Typology: written examination. The aim of the exam is the verification of the knowledge and the reasoning skills acquired by the student. Content: the written examination potentially regards all the topics carried out throughout the course and all the materials supplied. Method of examination: multiple choice questions with 4 answer choice and open questions. The student can integrate the written examination with an oral test.
