Learning outcomes
This course will introduce the student to the graphic language fundamentals in order to:
- become familiar with technical drawings in construction and industrial fields.
- assess the management and distribution of space in workplace.
- develop drawings using 2D CAD software.
Program
Introduction to technical standards. Paper sizes. Drawing scales. Basic conventions for views (orthographic projection methods). Basic conventions for lines. Basic conventions for cuts and sections and for representing their areas. Indication of dimensions. Construction drawings. Standards and regulations for residential buildings. D.M. 5 luglio 1975. Layout of electric power, water, heating, ventilation supply systems in buildings and their graphical symbols. Industrial plant layout drawings.
Class examples and exercises.
Drafting techniques used for creating drawings using Autodesk AutoCAD 2D software. Topics include overview of AutoCAD user interface, file manipulation and management, units, basic 2D drawing aids, two-dimensional geometric construction, editing, dimensioning, layers, text, blocks, hatch, and plotting.
