Academic calendar
The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. Public holidays and University closures are also indicated. The academic year normally begins on 1 October each year and ends on 30 September of the following year.

Learning outcomes
The course aims to provide students with basic knowledge of the legal and technical legislation on machinery and work equipment and tools which enable the identification of hazards , risk assessment and the adoption of appropriate prevention actions and protection .

Basic safety concepts , design criteria , basic terminology , methodology , technical principles , principles for risk assessment. Risk assessment by the user and the adoption of technical , organizational, information and training . CE certification , principles , procedures , harmonized standards , stages , correlation with the social legislation ( TUSL ) .

The essential safety requirements (RES)
The technical standards and their classification: Type A standards, B and C
The technical standards will apply to type A and B machines.
The identification of hazards generated by machines: mechanical, electrical, thermal, slip, stumble, fall, generated by noise, vibration, radiation, materials and substances processed, used, produced or discharged, generated by failure of ergonomic principles .
The identification of the hazards associated with the environment in which the machine is used.
Estimation, analysis, risk assessment. Strategies for risk reduction.
Protective measures and means of protection (guards and protection devices)
the protective measures taken by the designer (protective measures integrated into the design, protections and complementary protective measures, information for use)
