Academic calendar
The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. Public holidays and University closures are also indicated. The academic year normally begins on 1 October each year and ends on 30 September of the following year.

Program
• Definition of first aid and the duties of the first responder also on the basis of regulatory references • The health emergency system and its alerting • Safety of the scene, of the rescuer and of the injured person • Evaluation of the injured person's vital functions • Basics of anatomy and physiology (respiratory, cardio-circulatory, musculoskeletal) • Basic support of vital functions (cardiac massage, airway obstruction) • First aid interventions in the patient presenting: ◦ loss of consciousness ◦ seizure ◦ shock ◦ burns and electrocution ◦ epistaxis ◦ intoxications and poisonings ◦ temperature alterations (heatstroke, hypothermia) ◦ wounds ◦ trauma (sprains, dislocations, fractures, trauma to the spine, amputations)
