Learning objectives

Prerequisites and basic notions
The access prerequisite is to have participated in the first year internship
Program
The student learns to plan the oral hygiene therapeutic process and plan the treatment, remove and control any soft or mineralized deposits both above and subgingival and the topical application of various prophylactic means to prevent, control and reduce dental gold pathologies in the different clinical pictures.
Contents of the discipline:
Case study, intervention planning and therapeutic process planning. Application techniques and indications:
♦ Chairside positions
♦ Plaque revealing substances.
♦ Fluoroprophylaxis.
♦ Sealing of grooves and cracks.
♦ Periodontal sounding.
♦ Manual and mechanical scaling.
♦ Manually and mechanically covered root planing.
♦ Removal of soft deposits, exogenous pigments, polishing of dental surfaces.
♦ Polishing of dental restorations.
♦ Treatment of dental hypersensitivity.
♦ Dental whitening techniques.
♦ Maintenance therapy in the different clinical pictures: operative protocols, frequency of periodic recalls in: child, adolescent, young adult, adult, elderly patient.
