Learning objectives

The Global Burden of Disease (GBD) represents an effort to measure the impact that diseases, physical injuries and risk factors have on population health over time in relation to gender, age and geographic context. The course aims to provide an overview of the main indicators used in health research to analyze the social care needs in the population as a basis for the planning and organization of health services, with particular reference to the Italian National Health Service. In particular, aspects relating to epidemiological indicators and inequality in access to services included in GBD studies will be explored in depth.
