Learning outcomes
The course aims to develop and enhance nursing and midwifery skills related to signs and symptoms assessment- monitoring and surveillance for the purpose to develop a personalized approach of care.
The teaching offers both theoretical and simulated in-depth examination of the most relevant events for nursing and midwifery.
ADVANCED METHODOLOGIES OF HEALTH EDUCATION (METODOLOGIE AVANZATE DI EDUCAZIONE ALLA SALUTE): Learning Outcomes: At the end of the course students will develop and apply effective communication skills with users following the health literacy principles. They will be able to read and use data coming from the surveillance of lifestyles to plan interventions focused on health education. They will understand and apply health promotion and education strategies and principles.They'll also be able to analyse the theoretical models behind lifestyles choices and motivation to change and Investigate some stages of design (analysis of needs and planning of objectives) of a therapeutic education intervention. SOCIOLOGY OF CULTURE AND COMMUNICATION (SOCIOLOGIA DELLA FAMIGLIA E DELLE RETI ASSISTENZIALI): Learning outcomes: The course aims to provide knowledge on the reform of the welfare system in connection with the most important processes of social change that have invested European societies and in particular Italy. The objective of the course is the development of competencies in the critical analysis of the changes happened in the last decades in relation to labour, families, communities and to the demographic structure of the population. The course will highlight all these connections and relationships of interdependence, with the purpose to analyze the transition to new models of welfare. ASSESSMENT TOOLS (STRUMENTI DI ASSESSMENT):Learning outcomes: The students will learn to understand and apply the tools available for the advanced nursing and midwifery assessment: typologes, criteria of choice and use. To analyse and debate the principles guiding the use of the assessment tools and their weak points. To Conduct assessments, in particular respiratory assessment and interpret the main respiratory noises.
INTERNAL MEDICINE (SEMEIOTICA E ASSESSMENT AVANZATO): lLearning outcomes: The aim of the course is the development of abilities for the assessment of a nursing-tailored physical examination and collection of clinical history aimed at the monitoring of signs and symptoms to reach a personalized care planning in order to improve the effectiveness of nursing care.
SYMPTOMS ASSESSMENT AND MANAGEMENT IN PALLIATIVE CARE (ASSESSMENT E GESTIONE DEI SINTOMI IN CURE PALLIATIVE): The specific advanced objectives in the field of oncology and palliative care are:
• To understand the current meaning of palliative care and its basic principles.
• To know the innovative oncological treatments (targeted therapy and immunotherapy), to recognize, quantify and recognize a potential therapeutic strategy for the peculiar toxicities deriving from them.
• Acquire knowledge about the available tools for evaluating relevant parameters in oncological patients (performance status, pain, fatigue, dyspnea, etc).
• Acquire knowledge about the patient-centered management and monitoring of these symptoms.
• Know the principles of assessment, management and monitoring of end-of-life phase.
ASSESSMENT AND MANAGEMENT OF GERIATRIC PATIENTS, WITH FOCUS ON DISABILITY AND COGNITIVE STATUS (ASSESSMENT E GESTIONE DELLA DISABILITA' E DELLO STATO COGNITIVO DELL'ANZIANO). To develop the necessary skills for the care of geriatric patients in the area of clinical assessment, monitoring and surveillance of signs and symptoms. The different settings of care (hospital or community) will be considered to provide the student with validated tools, able to allow in every area of care a correct clinical evaluation and subsequent welfare planning for patient. Look at the high prevalence of cerebrovascular and cognitive problems in the elderly people, particular attention will be given to the diagnostic aspect, with the use of appropriate detection tools, to offer more care that is appropriate for the individual patient.
