Learning outcomes

This training module aims to develop the necessary nursing skills in the field of assessment, monitoring and clinical surveillance of signs and symptoms in patients in the geriatric age. The various operational settings (hospital, residential facilities for the elderly and the territory) will be considered with the aim of providing the learner with validated tools, capable of allowing correct clinical evaluation and subsequent assistance planning of the case in every area of care.
Given the high prevalence of cerebrovascular and cognitive problems in the elderly population, particular attention will be paid to deepening these aspects both as regards the diagnostic aspect, with the use of appropriate detection tools, and the assistance aspect with the intent to offer more appropriate treatment for the individual patient.
