Learning outcomes
To provide the basic knowledge of physical and human geography in order to understand the interaction between man and environment, the effects on the landscape and their impacts on cultural heritage.
Program
Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of Geography.
Contents of the corse: What is the geography; the origins of geography, earth and geographical space; the geographical thought; the use of models in geography; the geographical landscape; geographical elements and factors; size and shape of the earth; the motions of the earth; the seasons; the large landforms; the distribution of the population on the planet; Unesco and the World Heritage Sities; cultural heritage.
Text books:
For the attending students, besides lecture notes and materials provided by the professor, it is required the study of two volumes:
GREINER A. L., DEMATTEIS G., LANZA C., Geografia umana, un approccio visuale, Utet, Milano, 2012.
PANIZZA M., PIACENTE S., Geomorfologia culturale, Bologna, Pitagora Ed., 2003.
For students not attending an interview with the professor is necessary in order to agree the program.
N.B., Photocopies are not allowed to the exams.
Teaching methods: Lectures, pratical lessons and conferences.
Examination Methods
The grading will be based on an oral interview (the written exam is facultative only for attending students).
