At the end of the teaching students will be able to

- communicate with enough clarity the studied topics

Program

Talking - with themselves and with others, with words or without - is an irreplaceable mean of human growth: an everyday exercise of “taking care of oneself”, acknowledging what we really are and what the world is.
The course will start with the reading of the first two dialogues of The Republic by Plato as examples of Socratic (the first) and Platonic (the second) dialogues.
The course will then focus on what Hannah Arendt wrote about the Socratic dialogic thought. Both issues will be contextualized in the proper historical-cultural setting and then developed with references to contemporary dialogue philosophies.
