Learning outcomes
Conoscere i principali scrittori classici della letteratura per l’infanzia e l’adolescenza a livello nazionale e internazionale; elementi di sviluppo storico della letteratura per l’infanzia italiana, in relazione a quella straniera. Comprendere l’epistemologia della disciplina all’interno di un contesto conoscitivo interdisciplinare, con particolare sguardo alla relazione tra pedagogia e letteratura. Comprendere la rinnovata funzione educativo-formativa della letteratura per bambini e ragazzi; la relazione tra opera di narrativa e contesto storico e culturale di cui è espressione; i criteri di analisi necessari per valutare criticamente un’opera letteraria; l’importanza della qualità narrativa (strutturale, linguistica, iconica e simbolica) delle opere letterarie per bambini e ragazzi ai fini di una crescita umana arricchente. Sapere utilizzare specifici criteri di scelta per individuare opere di qualità (verbale e iconica), distinguendole da prodotti commerciali, omologati e omologanti. Saper scegliere e consigliare, sia agli adulti che ai destinatari-lettori, opere (classiche e contemporanee) adatte alle diverse età e agli interessi dei singoli soggetti. Sviluppare la capacità di fornire consulenza a genitori e familiari, nonché ad operatori che lavorano sul territorio, selezionando libri ed albi illustrati da inserire in progetti educativi attuati in ambiti extrascolastici.
Program
Children and young Literature: the uniqueness of Children’s Literature; the origins and the developments of children’s literature (18th- 19th); the different aspects of contemporary italian and international children’s literature (writers, illustrators, genres; themes, characters, style); the voices of the most important italian and international writers (Collodi, Rodari, Lindgren, Dahl, Milani); the criteria for evaluation the fiction books for children and young readers; picturebooks and illustrated books: definition, typology, themes, relationship between words and images; the difference between didactic and creative text; pedagogical and aesthetical approaches to children’s literature.
Examination Methods
Due to covid 19 the exam will be held in oral form (streaming zoom).
The teacher will send a notice to indicate the dates and times for the oral exam.
