Learning outcomes

Acquisire la consapevolezza che ogni aspetto della nostra società è l’esito di un processo storico. Conoscere "l’altro" attraverso il confronto col passato, al fine di rendere l’educatore più consapevole dei mutamenti storici e dei connessi condizionamenti culturali e sociali. Acquisire le conoscenze basilari del metodo e degli strumenti del lavoro dello storico. Sapere contestualizzare i processi e i fenomeni storici in relazione alla realtà circostante. Sviluppare senso critico e autonomia di giudizio, al fine di cogliere le influenze storiche e culturali dei diversi fenomeni e poterne tenerne conto sia nei progetti educativi sia nel rapporto con "l’altro".

Program

After exposing the methods of investigation and the sources of the framework, the course aims to investigate the concept of the role of women in a family and in the society during XVI-XIX centuries in order to take the elements of continuity and discontinuity with the present. In particular the following topics will be discussed:

the building of the presumed female inferiority;
the role of woman in the family and social environment;
the concept of motherhood;
the violence against women.

Didactics methods

The prevailing teaching method will be the frontal lesson with the support of slides, interspersed by lab about the analysis of the sources, moments of confrontation and discussion, and seminar meetings. Beside a lesson/lecture visit is planned in archive.

Examination Methods

The aim of the exam text consists in verifying the level of achievement of the training objectives previously indicated. In particular the students will have to prove:

- to be able to contextualize the historical processes and to interpret them in a critical way;
- to expose the own arguments in a rigorous way, using an appropriate and scientific language.

The evaluation of the achievements will be made through on oral interview for the attending students about the topics developed during the lessons, material provided and examined during classes, and about references texts indicated in the program, while for non-attending students about references texts indicated in the program.
