Learning outcomes

Conoscere i fondamenti del ragionamento e del metodo sociologico, con specifico riferimento alle questioni culturali e simboliche, al fine di comprendere le principali dinamiche della società complessa contemporanea. Conoscere il dibattito sociologico in merito allo sviluppo della modernità e al passaggio verso la modernità avanzata, comprendendone i nodi più significativi e i nessi principali, anche sul piano diacronico. Conoscere le principali teorie in ordine alla descrizione dei processi di globalizzazione caratteristici della società contemporanea, con specifico riferimento al contesto delle società industriali avanzate. Definire il concetto sociologico di "complessità" per sapere vivere nella società globale, che è una società complessa e, prima ancora, saper pensare e poi lavorare in termini complessi. Comprendere e saper utilizzare criticamente i nessi utili alla professione educativa in relazione allo studio delle dinamiche culturali e simboliche della modernità avanzata, anche in riferimento alle conoscenze maturate nell’ambito del corso. Essere in grado di situare i fenomeni emergenti della contemporaneità, con specifico riferimento alla professione educativa di comunità, nell’ambito di quadri di pensiero e di riflessione sullo sviluppo e sul mutamento delle società globale (ad es. il fenomeno delle migrazioni globali o della trasformazione di ampie sfere della vita quotidiana, dal lavoro all’intimità).

Program

First part of the course: the theme of social and cultural transformations will be deepened through Taylor's text, in which the author deepens the social unease in which modern man lives today.
Monographic part:
2) Second part of the course: the second part of the course deals with the theme of emotions today from a sociological perspective. Specifically, this part will explore shame, a social emotion that has undergone countless transformations over time and that is crucial in the process of building identity and social recognition.
3) Third part of the course: Starting from the analysis of the emotion of shame, we will deepen and analyze, also through multimedia material, the different risk behaviors in today's young people (eating disorders, bullying, revenge porn, video games, use of drugs).
