Learning objectives
The course aims to provide basic knowledge of the main types of financial instruments and markets. Therefore, the course investigates the technical and evaluation features of the most important financial instruments, as well as the structure of the related financial markets. Students will learn concepts necessary to analyze the role played by financial instruments and markets within the financial system. At the end of the course, students will be able to identify and understand both the appropriate risk and return measures of the different types of financial instruments analyzed and the organizational structure of the financial markets in which they are traded.

The ECB monetary policy.
Financial instruments: bonds, stocks and derivatives.
Financial markets: functions and operating modes.
Reference text: Economia degli intermediari finanziari, McGraw-Hill education, 2024 (only the chapters relative to the contents of the course).
Didactic methods
Teaching will be developed through lectures aimed at facilitating the understanding and interpretation of theoretical concepts. The course could include meetings with experts.
