Academic calendar
The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. Public holidays and University closures are also indicated. The academic year normally begins on 1 October each year and ends on 30 September of the following year.

Learning objectives
The course aims to provide the theoretical and methodological competences needed to analyze some of the main topics in macroeconomics like the determinants of aggregate demand and aggregate supply, and what generates cyclical fluctuations in income and unemployment. At the end of the course, students will know the role that monetary and fiscal policy play in stabilizing the economy, both in closed economy as well as in an economy open to international trade, and what generates long-run growth. Students will be able to understand the functioning of the economic system within which firms operate.
Prerequisites and basic notions
Knowledge of basic mathematical notions acquired at high school, in particular the solution of linear equations.

3. Goods and money market: The IS-LM model.
4. Consumption, investment and government spending.
5. Aggregate Supply: The AS-AD model.
6. Inflation and Unemployment.

Didactic methods
The teaching methods consist of lectures where the various theoretical concepts will be explained, and practical sessions that will allow to analyze these theoretical concepts through numerical examples.
Learning assessment procedures
Final written exam, 1 hour long.
Evaluation criteria
The aim of the exam is to verify the student’s understanding of the theory analyzed in class, as well as the ability to apply the theory to solve numerical exercises.
Criteria for the composition of the final grade
The final written exam consists of two parts: a multiple-choice test (50% of the final grade), and one longer exercise (50% of the final grade). The multiple-choice test is made up by 10 questions and is graded as follows: correct answer +3, wrong answer -1, no answer 0. Both the multiple-choice and the exercise will be based on the entire program covered during the course.

CONTAMINATION LAB
The Contamination Lab Verona (CLab Verona) is an experiential course with modules on innovation and enterprise culture that offers the opportunity to work in teams with students from all areas to solve challenges set by companies and organisations.
Upon completion of a CLab, students will be entitled to receive 6 CFU (D- or F-type credits).

PLEASE NOTE: In order to be admitted to any teaching activities, including those of your choice, you must be enrolled in the academic year in which the activities in question are offered. Students who are about to graduate in the December and April sessions are therefore advised NOT to undertake extracurricular activities in the new academic year in which they are not enrolled, as these graduation sessions are valid for students enrolled in the previous academic year. Therefore, students who undertake an activity in an academic year in which they are not enrolled will not be granted CFU credits.

Internships
The curriculum of the three-year degree courses (CdL) and master's degree courses (CdLM) in the economics area includes an internship as a compulsory training activity. Indeed, the internship is considered an appropriate tool for acquiring professional skills and abilities and for facilitating the choice of a future professional outlet that aligns with one's expectations, aptitudes, and aspirations. The student can acquire further competencies and interpersonal skills through practical experience in a work environment.

Modalità di frequenza, erogazione della didattica e sedi
Le lezioni di tutti gli insegnamenti del corso di studio, così come le relative prove d’esame, si svolgono in presenza.
Peraltro, come ulteriore servizio agli studenti, è altresì previsto che tali lezioni siano registrate e che le registrazioni vengano messe a disposizione sui relativi moodle degli insegnamenti, salvo diversa comunicazione del singolo docente.
La frequenza non è obbligatoria.
