Learning objectives
The Professional Laboratory is a prerequisite to professional training and is designed to provide all students the minimum skills and equal for all locations are essential to deal with it. Since, moreover, the possibility to the student to experiment with quiet activities before being inserted in the employment context.They are carried out in small groups throughout the academic year (I - II semester), under the guidance of tutors.
Prerequisites and basic notions
The teacher makes preparatory materials available on Moodle.
Program
Chemistry part - weighing technique - preparation of solutions - dilutions - use of pipettes - centrifugation - manipulation and separation of biological materials - pH measurement. Microbiology part - seeding techniques - preparation of slides - Gram staining - use of the optical microscope - bacterial identification - preparation of the antibiogram - descending dilutions.

Didactic methods
The professional laboratory will be practical, at the teaching laboratories of the University of Trento. It will take place in five consecutive mornings. In addition to the reference teacher, there will be laboratory technicians who are experts in the various topics.
Learning assessment procedures
Attendance is 100% mandatory.
Evaluation criteria
The skills and knowledge acquired will be evaluated. Active participation in the proposed activities will also be considered positively.
Criteria for the composition of the final grade
The laboratory is approved / not approved. A positive evaluation will allow access to the internship.
