Learning objectives
At the end of the internship period carried out at the thesis location, the student must acquire:
• adequate preparation in the basic disciplines, such as to allow a better understanding of the most relevant elements that underlie the pathological processes that develop in the developmental, adult and geriatric age on which the diagnostic intervention is focused;
• theoretical and practical knowledge of each of the professional sectors, with particular regard to innovative methodologies;
• ability to critically assess the reliability of test results and analyzes;
• ability to take responsibility for their actions according to the objectives and priorities of the work activity, the correct fulfillment of the analytical procedures, in verifying the correspondence of the services provided to the indicators and standards set by the person in charge of the structure;
• ability to perform a bibliographic and updating research through the use of updated databases, making critical reading of technical and scientific articles;
• a good level of knowledge of the English language, as well as Italian, in order to allow the understanding of international literature;
• competence useful for the management of laboratory information systems;
• ability to identify, prevent and deal with critical events related to risks of various kinds and types associated with the activity in the different areas of the laboratory, applying workplace safety standards,
• respect for ethical and deontological principles in relations with users or other health professionals, establishing effective and collaborative relationships in the awareness of the specific characteristics of the different professional roles;
• ability to work in groups and to operate with defined degrees of autonomy;
• indispensable knowledge for the implementation and monitoring of Total Quality through the use of correct methodologies;
• ability to transmit and manage information in the workplace, proving to be able to fill out the dedicated forms, communicating verbally and written in a clear, concise and professional way, technically and grammatically accurate, in order also to convey ideas, pose problems and find the related solutions;
• produce, collect and process the data necessary for the preparation of the final thesis, organizing and planning the indispensable work for the same.
Examination Methods
Professional internship examination conducted at accredited sites ensures the practice of techniques and methodologies previously addressed in professional workshops (simulation / role plaing / manual skills, virtual experiences discussion of diagnostic cases under the supervision of experienced tutors examinations at OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination) stations with stations consistent with the teaching objectives or integrated with other professional learning areas
Evaluation criteria
The following macro-areas are evaluated in the evaluation of the professional internship: computer skills, organizational skills, radiation protection skills, interpersonal skills, technical methodological skills and professional skills the average of the evaluations carried out by the supervising tutors during the internship experience, the evaluations of papers and in-depth studies with professional practical implications consistent with the internship experience, the OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination) station exam evaluation is compiled Lower than 18 : Insufficient professional skills 18 - 20 : Professional competencies have uncertainties in the application of methodologies 21 - 23 : Appropriate professional competence, not complete ability to apply theoretical concepts in professional practice 24 - 25 : Professional competencies appropriate and extensive 26 - 27 : Appropriate and broad professional skills with good ability to apply knowledge, analytical skills, to complex situations 28 - 29 : Appropriate and broad professional skills with , good application of content, good analytical and decision-making skills in complex situations 30 or 30 cum laude : Appropriate and broad professional competencies with , good and thorough application of content, excellent ability to analyze and make decisions in articulate and complex situations
