Learning outcomes
Good knowledge of Italian Literature in its diachrony, from the 13th to the 16th centuries. Acquisition of essential (linguistic, syntactic, stylistic, rhetorical, and metrical) instruments for reading and interpreting literary texts, their structure, and their form. Ability to identify contexts, influences, and processes of codification of literary genres and the canon. Acquisition of critical bibliography.
Capacity of both autonomously elaborate acquired knowledge and expose them in clear and academically appropriate way.
Program
Prerequisites: Good knowledge of the Italian language; basic knowledge of the history and texts of the Italian literature.
Syllabus:
1. Lectures of Dante: Commedia. 12 hours of lectures of Dante’s Commedia.
Study of the following canti:
Inferno, I, II, IV, V, VI, X, XI, XIII, XV, XXVI, XXXIII.
Purgatorio, I, III, V, VI, IX, XI, XVII, XXIV, XXVI.
Paradiso, I, III, VI, XI, XII, XV, XVI, XVII, XXIV, XXVII, XXXIII.

Examination Methods
The oral examination evaluates a student’s overall preparation and the direct knowledge and analysis of texts offered during each part of the course.
