M-PED/01 - PEDAGOGY, THEORIES OF EDUCATION AND SOCIAL EDUCATION

I SEMESTRE dal Oct 1, 2018 al Jan 25, 2019.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student:
1) knows the main issues of pedagogical reflection and some of the most significant theories;
2) uses appropriately the pedagogical language and its fundamental concepts;
3) is able to reflect critically on educational problems and experiences;
4) is able to interpret the educational dimensions of sport and to valorize the essential characteristics of the sports educator.

Program

The course is divided into two parts.
The first part aims to present pedagogy as a complex and critical reflection on education, in the broader panorama of the educational sciences. The following topics will be examined:
- the pedagogy origin and it scientific path;
- the central issues of the pedagogy, its epistemological foundations and the main pedagogical currents;
- the interdisciplinary, plural, hybrid and critical nature of pedagogy;
- the main challenges that pedagogy faces in the contemporary society.
The second part analyzes the relationship between pedagogy and sport. In particular, it focuses on:
- the educational values of sport;
- the profile of the sporting professional from a pedagogical point of view;
- some educational methodologies, practices and experiences in the sports field.
