Learning outcomes

The course aims to present the Ville Lumière on the historical and touristic point of view in order to introduce its literary myth during the Eighteenth-century: « C’est Paris qui fait le Français », wrote Montesquieu. After an historic presentation of the French capital we will consider two novels based in Paris and some anthological passages presenting the literary urban representation of the period.

Further materials will be provided at the beginning of the course.
