Learning outcomes

a) the knowledge of the history of Europe in the mediaeval Millennium; b) competence in the interpretation and in the analysis of the historical settings in which the students live, also in connection with their specific profession of educator; c) in the meantime students are directed to improve the methods of historical research guided by the teacher, through the study of the specific case of Belief and Disbelief in the Middle Ages.

Program

These goals are pursued :

a) with the study of the handbook: P. GOLINELLI, Breve storia dell’Europa medievale, Bologna, Pàtron, 2001, explained during the course.

b) MAIN COURSE:
Belief and Disbelief in the Middle Ages

to prepare with notes from the lessons, and the study of the medieval sources introduced to the students during lessons, and available in the Fotostatic Copies Shop “La Rapida”.

In adjunction, the students have to read: P. GOLINELLI, Il Medioevo degli increduli, Milano, Mursia, 2009.

c) With a personal paper discussed with the teacher (a short 10 pages essay; a film; a Computer presentation; etc.), or a 3 pages book report, from the following list:
