Learning outcomes

the course aims at studying in depth the methodologies that can be applied to the texts of the Latin literature (from the ancient to the modern ones) and at favouring the acquisition of the ability to adopt different methodologies in analysing a Latin text in the most profitable way.

Program

Pre-requirements: advanced knowledge of the Latin language.

Contents of the Course: study in depth of the methodologies, application of the methodologies to some satires and letters of Horace, and to the pro Marcello by Cicero.

Didactic Methods: lessons and workshops.

Examination Methods

an interview, partly via readings of texts in the original language, which intends to ascertain that the course’s aims have been reached
