Learning outcomes

this course is designed to furnish to the student – besides a panning of film and photography history (with particolar reference to the photojournalism) – the tools to face the linguistic and aesthetics analysis of the photographic and movie images, as a premise for their use in the field of communication.
We aim to develop skills and knowledge of specific media in depth, but also to engage with the frontiers of interdisciplinary media communication.

notions of cinema and film history, photography and international photojpurnalism history; intodruction to reading techniques and linguistic analysis of the image, elements of cinema aesthetics.
