Oral surgery (2021/2022)

Learning outcomes
The goals of the course deal with the general assessment of the surgical patient and are related to both the theoretical and the practical module. Special attention will be devoted to issues related to extractive surgery.
ORAL SURGERY MODULE Educational goals. The course goals are being able to perform a general assessment of the patient undergoing oral surgery, formulate indications concerning local anesthesia and antibiotic treatment, realising treatment plans and managing complications in oral surgery.
MODULE PRACTICAL ACTIVITY IN ORAL SURGERY Educational goals. The student will have to be able to perform an adequate general assessment of the patient by means of appropriate medical history collection and clinical-radiological examination. As far as extractive surgery is concerned, the student will have to contribute formulating the treatment plan, identifying fragile subjects and adopting necessary precautions. Knowledge of follow-up guidelines and management of complications are also required.
