Program
The course aims to help students develop a greater command of the English language related to the language of dentistry by expanding the use of the general language and specific terminology (understanding and use of the vocabulary of dentistry and dental prosthesis with specific idiomatic expressions , communication skills in English in hospital and professional settings with the patient and between colleagues). The course aims to improve the student's familiarity with the English language for dentistry, speech and communication in different contexts of professional practice. The general attention of the course is aimed at specialized discursive practices, while the main aim is to improve the language skills necessary for the understanding of specialized scientific texts and the production of a short academic scientific text.

Learning assessment procedures
Written test preparatory to the oral exam. The test consists of a 'Reading Comprehension' relating to a research article published in one of the major scientific journals in the sector. Specifically, it includes the reading of the full text and ten open questions whose answer allows the evaluation of the comprehension of the text and the ability to elaborate a short argumentative text in written language. Coherence, cohesion and grammatical correctness are subject to evaluation. The oral exam consists in the evaluation of the linguistic skills of the oral register, the knowledge of the specialized vocabulary and some techniques of professional communication. The oral exam refers to the skills acquired during the course. The final overall assessment also takes into account participation in the classroom.
